Through the Aftermath Episode 9 On it's way. Let me know if you don't get it. The downloader thingie crashed on me once halfway through, and then another time I accidentally hit the back button on the wrong tab while it was downloading :)

In this 9th episode of Through the Aftermath, we’re joined by Chris Davis, owner of RPGObjects.com to talk about the post-apocalyptic tabletop gaming scene. Chris tells us all about his own tabletop RPG Darwin’s World, as well as his personal top 10 PA tabletop RPG list.

For the news, we have a lot this week:

In this exciting episode, we are joined by Colin Dwan, Project Manager for Fallen Earth. Following an interview at GDC last month for Massively, Colin agreed to come on this show and talk a bit more about the game for the TTA listeners. Some topics we covered include:

  • How Colin got started in the industry and what has influenced him
  • How he feels about creating an MMO with a team of fresh faces in the industry
  • A greater explanation of the game's 6 factions
  • Why the game is rated Mature

And much more!

Through the Aftermath Episode 7

In this 7th episode of Through the Aftermath, Shawn and Jonathan skip the usual format to catch up on some some emails from the listeners. We chose 20 to read this time, and they vary from book/movie suggestions to a particularly interesting email regarding a certain post-apoc game that was never made… starring Metallica?!?

We briefly touch on the news of Masthead Studios (makers of Earthrise) helping out on the new Project V13 Fallout MMO.

Throughout the show we mentioned certain links we’d provide, so here they are!

You may have noticed the progressive turn in this show towards making an official forum. We do plan on doing that very soon, so keep your eyes open for that on our website.

Our next episode is actually already recorded, waiting on some editing tidbits. It’s an interview with Colin Dwan of Fallen Earth, so look for that in the coming week!

Through the Aftermath Episode 6

In this 6th episode of Through the Aftermath, it’s all about gaming as we discuss Fallout 3’s newest DLC: The Pitt, as well as Shawn’s impressions of the Game Developer’s Conference last week in San Francisco.

Jonathan describes how much fun he’s had with The Pitt, and covers some of the concerns and issues that Xbox 360 players had with the new content when it first launched last week.

Shawn talks about the three post-apoc games he saw demos of and interviewed for at GDC: Fallen Earth, Huxley and Earthrise. Plus, at the end of the show, we play highlights from the Earthrise interview, featuring Masthead Studios‘ CEO Atanas Atanasov. We thank Atanas for allowing us use of the audio for this show, as the interview was originally done by Shawn for Massively.com.

Want to know more about these interviews? Check out each of these articles: Fallen Earth, Huxley and Earthrise. Also, even though we don’t mention it on the show, Global Agenda is shaping up to be a sci-fi game that teeters on post-apocalyptic. Definitely something to check out if you’re into the more technological side of a rebuilt world.

Look for a complete email show coming next week to catch up with the emails we’ve been receiving from you wonderful listeners!
